Our Program
Angels Way Maternity Home is a refuge for homeless pregnant women who have been abandoned by their support system at this most vulnerable and critical time in their lives. We meet these often frightened and lost women at the point of their immediate need, and then walk alongside them on their journey providing for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
A significant number of single pregnant women over the age of 18 are abandoned and without a support system when they need it most. Knowing that a healthy mother is the best caretaker for a child, we provide a program of services for her, which addresses her spiritual, psychological, educational and physical welfare. This helps her develop a sense of self-worth and enables her to become a responsible, self-sufficient member of society, equipped to raise a healthy child.
The women (and their infants for the first months of their lives) live in a real home in a safe neighborhood where healthy family-like relationships are built and encouraged. It provides a comprehensive program of education in areas of self-care, infant care, independent living skills, counseling, relationships, schooling, employment, etc. The women are educated and learn by hands-on experience, with the supervision of staff. Services, which address spiritual, psychological, educational, and physical welfare, meet the individual needs of each woman. Instruction in nutrition, childbirth, parenting, and homemaking skills are offered.
